  • memorable disc golf moment
My most memorable disc golf moment was my first NT experience as a professional in 2005. I was tied for 2nd going into the final round playing with Brad Hammock, Barry Shultz, and Walter Haney. I ended up finishing 2nd to Brad, tying Barry with a 40 ft. putt on hole 18 to finish. It is such a memorable moment because my adrenaline was pumping the entire time, as I had never been on that high of a stage as a professional up until that point.

    COURSES YOU SHOULD PLAY:
    Course Comments
    Winthrop Gold
    Rock Hill, SC
An adventure and one of the most challenging courses that you will ever play. Even when not in tournament mode, Winthrop Gold still tests every portion of your game.
    New Quarter Disc Golf Course
    Williamsburg, VA
New Quarter is such a fun course, not only because it is beautifully designed, but because of the history you are walking on. Set just a few miles from Historic Williamsburg, this course will test your game with tight wooded shots, as well as long open shots. Putting is key here!
    Castle Hayne Park
    Castle Hayne, NC
Castle Hayne is nicknamed ""Castle Payne"" because it is just that tough. Castle Hayne is about 10 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and can get breezy at times. It is also one of the tightest wood courses you will play in the state, calling for shots 400 ft. + through 15 ft. wide gaps. In my opinion, this is how disc golf should be played, through technical advanced placement shots.
    Maple Hill
    Leicester, ma
There is not much more to be said about Maple Hill that hasn't already been said. This course is just one you have to see. It requires patience, mental toughness, and some very good placement shots to make it through in one piece. This course plays a majority in the woods, but uses the scale of the property to let you rip some long drives on a few holes. My favorite course to play in the Northeast.
    McNaughton Park
    Pekin, IL
This course has been around for a while, and there is a reason for that! McNaughton, also known as McNasty, has two sets of tees, one being fairly challenging, and the other being a beast of a course. This course uses it's sheer natural beauty and undulation to make for some unbelievable shots and scenery. It is a must play if you are ever in the area!
In The Disc Golf Bag: Drivers
    Disc Comments
    ESP Crank
Comfortable in my hand, the rim feels the best for me on long range straight or turn over shots.
    Z Predator
When I need a disc to finish with a fade, this is the one. The Predator has the most predictable flight out of all my discs in the bag. It never lets me down. I throw the Predator on mostly big/spike hyzer shots between 350 and 450 ft.
    Z Force
The Force is my go to distance wind disc. Where I play is usually windy, so I almost always keep one in the bag. The Force has Crank speed, and Predator stability. It will always finish with a fade when I need it to!
    Z Stalker
This is one of the best drivers ever made. Period. I always go to the Stalker when I need a disc I can trust. I throw this disc on shots between 320 and 420 ft. It will fly a little straight when thrown, but finish with that predictable fade at the end of its flight. Truly recommended for all player skill levels!
    Z Avenger
The Avenger is one of my go to drivers, as it offers stability but will fly on a straight line for a long time. I use my Avenger for shots between 350 and 450 feet.
    X Stratus
The X Stratus is my go to disc for turnover drives between 250 to 350 feet. It will flip up for me and hold a perfect turn on shots that require it. I also use it as a short roller disc.
In The Disc Golf Bag: Midrange
    Disc Comments
    X and Z Wasp
The Wasp is a perfect midrange disc for those 250 to 350 straight or slow hyzer shots. It works wonderfully in the wind because of its stability and slight ending fade. This is a go to disc in those technical wooded courses that require a variety of midrange straight/hyzer throws.
    Z Comet
I use the Comet for a wide variety of shots. Let me first say that this is the best feeling midrange I've ever had. It feels great in the hand, will fly straight as an arrow, will turn over when needed, and glides forever. I will never play a round without a Comet in the bag!
In The Disc Golf Bag: Putt and Approach
    Disc Comments
    D Challenger
The best putter in the game. I throw in D plastic for a nice grip and feel. Also used for upshots and short drives.
